What happens when a wake-up call about your health changes the entire direction of your life?
In this special two-part conversation, I sit down with Laura Hargrove, host of the Health in Faith Podcast, to talk about her journey from unhealthy living and compromised health to metabolic healing, faith, and helping others reclaim their wellness.
In Part 1, Laura shares how poor lifestyle habits during university, while pursuing her law degree, eventually led to serious health concerns. After a doctor warned her about the direction her health was heading, she began making changes to her eating and exercise habits, sparking a deep interest in health and wellness.
Following university, Laura used her law degree to lead a research team within the NHS in Britain. But over time, she became increasingly troubled by the influence Big Pharma appeared to have over research and healthcare decisions. Eventually, she chose to step away from that career path, retrain in natural health, and pursue a different mission entirely.
Since then, Laura has coached and taught thousands of people around the world, written books, become certified as a metabolic health practitioner, and come to faith in Christ. Today, she helps people pursue healthier lives through practical metabolic health strategies grounded in biblical principles.
In Part 2, we dive into metabolic health and its impact on mental health, including anxiety, burnout, emotional exhaustion, mood, and chronic stress. Laura walks us through her practical 4-step TANDOM WALTZ approach to metabolic health and shares simple, sustainable steps listeners can begin applying right away to improve both physical and emotional well-being. 🌿
Topics we discuss include:• Metabolic health and mental health• Chronic stress and emotional exhaustion• Anxiety, burnout, and inflammation• Faith-based wellness and biblical health principles• Natural health and lifestyle healing• Nutrition, movement, and metabolic function• Simple practical habits that support long-term wellness• Healing the body and mind together

Do you struggle with anxiety symptoms, burnout, emotional exhaustion, people-pleasing, or guilt after setting boundaries?
In this episode of Practical Solutions for PTSD, Lori Owens shares practical tools to help you stop over-explaining, manage the emotional aftermath of saying no, and stay grounded when guilt, fear, or second-guessing try to pull you back into old patterns.
If you live with chronic stress, trauma, PTSD, depression, seasonal depression, isolation, avoidance behaviors, or relationship difficulties, boundaries can feel emotionally overwhelming. Many people replay conversations for hours, worry they upset someone, or feel responsible for managing everyone else’s emotions.
In this episode, you’ll learn:• simple boundary-setting phrases for anxiety and burnout• how to say no without guilt or over-explaining• why people-pleasing keeps your nervous system stuck in stress mode• practical coping strategies for emotional regulation after hard conversations• how to stop spiraling, overthinking, and emotionally shutting down• ways to protect your mental health while staying connected to others
You’ll also learn why guilt doesn’t always mean you did something wrong. Sometimes it means you’re making healthier choices for your mental health, relationships, and nervous system.
This episode is especially helpful for anyone struggling with:• anxiety and depression• emotional exhaustion and overwhelm• trauma responses and fawning• resentment from overgiving• difficulty setting boundaries in relationships• fear of disappointing people• chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation
Remember:You’re not learning how to say no perfectly. You’re learning how to stay with yourself after you do.
✨ From automatic yes… to intentional choice.✨ Guilt is not your compass.✨ Resentment is a messenger.✨ Love can stay. Access can change.

If you’ve been feeling emotionally exhausted, burned out, isolated, unmotivated, or like there’s “no flavor in life,” this episode explores how zest and enthusiasm can support healing from PTSD, anxiety, depression, and seasonal depression without pressure or forced positivity.
We discuss how trauma, chronic stress, hypervigilance, avoidance coping, guilt, loneliness, emotional shutdown, and nervous system overwhelm can disconnect people from joy, motivation, and engagement with life. This episode also explores micro-engagements, boundaries and values, nervous system regulation, seasonal affective disorder (Spring SAD), isolation, difficulty focusing, relationship difficulties, and practical coping strategies rooted in Positive Psychology, faith-integrated healing, and natural mental health support.
If you’ve been functioning but barely, emotionally shutting down, doom scrolling to escape stress, or wondering why your old coping tools aren’t working anymore, this conversation offers practical solutions for PTSD, depression, anxiety, and stress recovery through small, meaningful steps toward re-engaging with life.

Feeling exhausted, burned out, and stuck saying yes when you really don’t have the capacity? In this episode, we explore how PTSD, chronic stress, anxiety symptoms, seasonal depression, people pleasing, and nervous system conditioning can make automatic yeses feel safer than honest boundaries.
If you’re struggling with emotional exhaustion, guilt, isolation, avoidance, trouble focusing, relationship difficulties, or feeling “functioning but barely,” this episode will help you understand why your system reacts so quickly under pressure and how to begin changing the pattern.
Through Positive Psychology, nervous system regulation, and practical coping strategies, you’ll learn one simple skill that can start shifting everything: the pause. One breath. One moment of space between the ask and your answer. This can move you from the automatic yes to an intentional choice.
Because healing doesn’t start with becoming a different person overnight.Sometimes it starts with not saying yes immediately.
